
Tow Truck Involved in Fatal Car Accident on State Route 74
PALM DESERT, Calif. (Feb. 29, 2024) — A fatal crash happened Thursday afternoon on the Pines to Palms Highway 74, just west of Coachella Valley Vista Point in Palm Desert.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 12:32 p.m. on Feb. 29th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a red flatbed tow truck and a white Subaru were involved and traffic came to a stop in both directions, the CHP reported.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help at least one injured person, but unfortunately there was a fatality involved. One of the occupants from the vehicles was a 75-year-old man, but it’s unknown if the person was among those injured.
Tow trucks removed the Subaru and the tow truck from the roadway due to damage from the wreck.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 74 in Palm Desert.
