Two Killed in Multi-Vehicle Truck Accident Paso Robles Highway
WASCO, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2022) — Two people area dead following a head-on crash involving two semi-trucks and a car Wednesday morning on State Route Highway 46 (Paso Robles Highway) at Gun Club Road.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred about 5:47 a.m. on Oct. 5th, near the Semitropic School District offices just west of Wasco, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Lovepreet Dhillon, 32, of Bakersfield, was driving eastbound in a 2022 Freightliner on Highway 46. Meanwhile, Anthony Campos, 33 of Wasco, was traveling in the opposite direction in a 2010 Freightliner. Police say that Dhillon crossed over the broken yellow line moved into the path of the truck driven by Campos. The two trucks collided and one of them also hit a 2003 Toyota that had pulled to the right to avoid the trucks.
CHP officials reported they located the Toyota underneath the overturned truck’s trailer. Two people suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, police confirmed.
Also, a person in one of the trucks was bleeding from their face.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help those hurt in the crash.
Meanwhile, tow trucks responded to remove the vehicles from the roadway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
