Man Struck by SUV is Killed in Mira Mesa
MIRA MESA, Calif. (April 3, 2024) — Robert Keith Mullen, 60, of San Diego, was struck and killed Monday night in a pedestrian accident while attempting to cross Mira Mesa Boulevard outside of a crosswalk.
A driver in an SUV struck the victim just before 7:40 p.m. on April 1st at Mira Mesa Boulevard and Westview Parkway, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The pedestrian was crossing from the north side of Mira Mesa Boulevard to the south side, police said. This area has signs posted warning pedestrians not to cross here, police said.
A 70-year-old driver in a westbound Ford Expedition SUV struck the victim on Mira Mesa Boulevard.
Paramedics responded and rushed Robert Mullen to a hospital where he died from multiple injuries.
The Mira Mesa pedestrian accident remains under investigation, but no arrests were made as drugs and or alcohol did not appear to be factors.
