6 Killed in Private Jet Crash Near Lake Tahoe

TRUCKEE, Calif. (July 29, 2021) –Kevin Kvarnlov, and pilot Bret Ebaugh, were among six people killed when a private jet crashed near a golf course Monday while attempting to land at the Truckee-Tahoe Airport.
They were among four Coachella Valley residents who died in the fiery plane crash near Lake Tahoe. Ryan and Christine Thomas, owners of Hideaway Properties in La Qunta, also died in accident.
The Bombardier CL 600 twin-engine jet crashed left no survivors, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board reported the flight originated from Coeur d’Alene in Idaho and went down a few blocks from a runway at Truckee-Tahoe Airport.
3 Passengers, Pilot with Coachella Valley Connections
Kevin Kvarnlov, was an associate at Hideaway Properties, a real estate agency in La Quinta. Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, he moved to the Coachella Valley in 2011. Additionally, Ryan and Christine Thomas, were owners and managers of the upscale, Hideaway Properties in La Qunta.
Meanwhile, the pilot, Bret Ebaugh, a 1983 Palm Springs High School graduate, also earned his Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America. His Linkedin account mentions he was a captain and worked as a contract pilot for owners and operators on the Bombardier CL604, 605 and 650. His profile mentions he has more than 14,400 flight hours.
