Woman, 23, Killed in Crash on Harris Road is Identified

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (April 1, 2024) — Liseth Miranda, 23, of Bakersfield, was identified as the woman who died in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Harris Road near Ashe Road in Bakersfield.

The young woman’s family created a Gofundme to raise funds to pay for her funeral.

The Gofundme page states “On Wednesday March 27, 2024 Liseth’s life was taken away at the age of only 23 by a reckless driver leaving her family & fiancé to mourn,” according to Leticia Medina, the organizer of the fundraiser.

The three-vehicle collision occurred in the 6300 block of Harris Road at around 4:54 p.m. on March 27th, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

Police officers responded to the intersection of Ashe Road and Harris Road where the drivers of a black Volkswagen, a red Honda and a black Mini Cooper, Bakersfield Now reports.

Head-on Crash on Harris Road in Bakersfield

Investigators say a man driving a black Volkswagen was heading westbound on Harris Road when he allegedly crossed over into the eastbound lanes. The Volkswagen crashed into the drivers of the Honda and the Mini Cooper.

Paramedics responded and located several people with injuries including Liseth Miranda with major injuries and two people with minor injuries. She was transported to a hospital where she died.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Volkswagen was questioned by investigators who do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors.

Later, the Kern County Coroner’s Office later identified the young woman who died.
