Multiple Collision on the I-405 Freeway in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. (March 11, 2022) — A series of collisions happened on the Interstate 405 Freeway in Long Beach early Friday, just north of Temple Avenue.
The collisions occurred about 5:33 a.m. on March 11th on the southbound side of the Long Beach Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a white Toyota RAV 4, a Honda Civic and a gray Kia were involved in the initial collision in the middle lanes, the CHP said. One of the vehicles reportedly struck the center divider wall and the other two struck that vehicle. The report mentioned one vehicle was possibly on fire after the crash.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene to put out the fire and care for those injured.
However, shortly after the first crash, a BMW and two Hondas also collided in the area. One person exited a vehicle and was injured. Just ahead of this collision, a green Nissan Titan pickup truck, a silver Chrysler and a silver Toyota Camry collided.
Paramedics responded to assist and treat anyone hurt in the collision.
Investigators will review the case and determine fault for each situation.
