Big Rig Struck by Loose Tire on Foothill Freeway
SAN DIMAS, Calif. (June 7, 2021) — A San Dimas truck crash on the 210 Freeway Sunday resulted in a rollover near San Dimas Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol reported a tire came loose from an eastbound big rig truck on the San Dimas freeway. As a result, the tire crossed the center divider and collided with an oncoming, westbound big rig truck. The impact caused the second truck that was loaded with hay to overturn.
The collision happened about 5:36 p.m. on Sunday, June 6th on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway.
The overturned truck blocked the westbound lanes of the freeway.
Meanwhile, the truck driver from the overturned big rig managed to exit the vehicle. The report did not state if the driver suffered injuries in the San Dimas truck crash.
Police issued a SigAlert at 5:44 p.m. after they closed down all westbound lanes of the freeway at San Dimas Avenue.
Later, the HOV lane reopened about 8 p.m. and the fast lane about 11:30 p.m. The Sigalert was canceled at 1:17 a.m. Monday.
