Woman, 76, Riding Bike Dies After San Jose Crash with Motorcycle
SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 3, 2024) — Wimonwan Serisathien, 76, of Santa Clara, died at the hospital following a bicycle versus motorcycle accident last month on Hamilton Avenue in West San Jose.
The collision occurred at around 6:43 p.m. on Thursday, March 7th in the 4400 block Hamilton Avenue, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Authorities reported a man riding on a 2018 black Kawasaki Ninja was heading eastbound on Hamilton Avenue and collided with the elderly woman riding a bicycle who was crossing Hamilton Avenue in a northbound direction.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to a hospital where she died on Sunday, March 10th, the report said.
The motorcyclist stopped and police conducted an interview with the person about what happened, but no arrests were made. Alcohol and or drugs were not a factor in the collision.
Finally, the identity of the woman who died was released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The bicycle accident on Hamilton Avenue remains under investigation to determine fault. Her death was the 10th traffic fatality this year in San Jose.
