3 Killed, 8 Injured in Solo Crash
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 2, 2023) — A 25-year-old woman and two children died in a solo-vehicle crash Wednesday night on San Juan Road in south Natomas.
Another adult woman and seven children in the same white sedan were serious injured in the collision, KCRA News reports. The car, occupied by 11 people, reportedly went up a cub and hit a tree. Witnesses reported the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.
Several bystanders rushed to help the people in the car and managed to help some of them out as well as call 911 for help.
The Sacramento police and fire department responded to the crash scene around 8:15 p.m. on May 31st, according to CBS News.
The collision occurred on San Juan Road between Binghampton and Bridgeford drives.
Authorities say a total of two adults and nine children ages three to eight years old were in the vehicle. Two children ages 3 and 5 years old died at the scene, along with the 25-year-old woman.
Paramedics responded the injured to hospitals where they were listed in serious to critical condition.
Witnesses told news reporters the occupants were all wearing swimsuits and were driving home from a trip to a swimming pool.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the San Juan Road crash, but preliminary indications are that speed could have been a factor.
